    Hi,
    just got a panny es10.
I've hooked it up to my sky+ box
I've set RGB for sky output & es10 input.

Copied my 1st program for sky+ to the es10 using dvd-rw media.

Strange thing with the audio though.
when its copying & recording the program, I get no audio on the telly.
the program recorders & finalises just fine
when I play it back I get no audio on the telly

if I play the dvd on a different machine I get audio just fine.
so why am I missing audio on the es10

if I pop a prerecorded dvd into the es10 that works fine. picture & audio as expected. so that would seem to suggest I've cabled it up ok, wouldn't it?

I've cabled it up right as far as I can see, scart from sky to es10, scart from es10 to tv etc.

must admit that I'm not sure if the scart from es10 to tv is fully connected, so I've ordered another and will try that. but I'm not convinced that is the problem.

why would I get audio with a prerecorded dvd and not one I've recorded.

    cheers
    Phil

It does sound as though you have a faulty or not full-connected scart lead so beg, steal ( ;) ) or borrow another.

The reason you have sound from a prerecorded DVD is because the wires that carry the audio output are wired to different pins on the scart connector than the wires that carry the audio input.

    thanks,
but the audio is getting on to the dvd disc coz when I play it on another dvd player it works fine.
I only get the missing audio when playing back on the es10

if I got no audio on any playback I'd agree with you.

    cheers

With the DVDR switched on and the TV input set to it do you have sound?
