Hello everyone I have a Sony DAV-S550 for a while with no problem it is fine for what I need but I wanted to hook-up my record turntable to the system through the m/f phono leads,it works but even with the Sony on maximum
power there is very low output audio wise, can anyone give me any clues as I am baffled as the turntable has no volume control on it as it was part of my old Hi-Fi system.

You need a phono stage. The signal from a turntable is generally on one tenth the strength of that from a CD player or similar. In the case of the sony, you would need an external unit which normally takes the form of a little black box from about £20 upwards. Look at the usual suspects, Richer, maplins etc.
