Audio problem

Active Member

I have my PS3 connected to a 5.1 surround via optical & every so often when playing a movie or music i get a crackling sound on playback which is really annoying, i have changed my optical lead but still have the same problem. Could this be anything to do with my audio set up on the PS3 or does anybody have any ideas ?

Many thanks

Make sure your system/tv is capable of 5.1. If you only have two speakers on your set, you aren't going to be able to pull 5.1 channels out of a setup like that. You will start getting the crackle, because the 5.1 sound is not able to be reproduced this way.
