I recently updated the software on my tv, philips 40pfl8664. It was downloaded via the philips website and saved onto an usb key.
I have only had the tv a few weeks and noticed the software version was from 2009. I uploaded the new software version via usb.
Since then I can hear audio clicks/pops from the speakers. It is similar to a creaking sound or static type of noise. It is there on all sources and also when tv is in mute.
I contacted philips via their online chat and they suggested to contact retailer which I did. Not long after my chat with reatiler the noise disappeared. But this evening it is back.
The retailer originally suggested to install software again, but that doesn't seem possible as the tv doesn't seem to recognise the same software again.
