Audio capabilities of Virgin box

What sound can you get out of the Virgin box?

I notice it appears to have optical out.

Do all the TV channels have 5.1 sound, when coupled with decoder and speakers?

What kind of setup (speakers & receiver) would be good to go with it?

Apart from BBC HD on the V+, none of the channels broadcast in 5.1. There is however rumor of one or 2 of the Movie channels broadcasting in 5.1 occasionaly, this is restricted to ex TW areas AFAIK.

Yup sky prem movie and a couple of others are broadcast in AC3 but don't think my amp handles AC3 as i don't get any audio unless i turn audio option to just English..
