One of the best solutions I've seen is to have the pj in the room behind you projecting through a hole in the wall - just like a real cinema!

RTFM had that set-up for one of his Sim2 projectors, and I think it's one of the best ideas - providing you have the room etc though. A well ventilated cupboard could work I suppose.

    Yo

    Steady on !
You must have sensitive Steve Austin bionic ears, its not that loud.
Are you running in low power bulb mode ?
Currently mine is low down at head level, right next to me (well left) and its not annoying when watching a film.
Its noisier than previous Z1 but you get used to it.
Soon it'll be up on the ceiling where I'm I'm sure I wont hear it.

I had the screenplay 4800 model and now have this the 7200 and even in high power mode the noise is only just louder than the other model I had.
When the film starts you dont even notice the fan noise, are you Sure you didnt get a bad one ?

I would definately check what lamp mode yours in set to. My Infocus 4805 in high lamp mode makes an awful din but in low lamp mode, I barely hear a thing !

Hang on peter i thought you said you had the infocus 7200...whats all this toshiba talk? What model do you have exactly for £1500.
The noise could be a duff colour wheel  or as with my old pc graphics card a faulty fan, this caused an awful noise and bad vibration...it was catching on a loose cable while spinning. I may be wrong but the INFOCUS 7200 has a lamp unit that comes with a fan attached ..check it out. Good luck.. oh could you pm me if possible with that 7200 retailer you hinted at :smashin:

guess what martian1? ive just swapped my mt8 for a 7205

how? well the one i swapped with had 100 hours left on the 7205 lamp only

my mt 8 had 2980 hours left on the lamp!

so all i have to do now is buy a new lamp and im set!

i think 7205 should be much better

Are you sure it's a 7205? This model has only been out a couple of months so 2900 hours use sounds pretty unlikely!
More likely to be the 7200 in my opinion.

Is there a manufacture date on the bottom? if there is and its less than 2 years old, you can get warrenty work free by steljes.co.uk. They do all the warrenty work for Tosh UK.

    services@steljes.co.uk

Also you can ring Toshiba on 01932 841600 and ask for the "PVP dept". The lady is called Julie Lions (or similar). The bad news is that, if like me, your MT8 only has the serial number - they dont seem to be able to find out when it was made.
