I have just booked my tickets to see Attack of the Clones at Cheshire Oaks, I have never been before but was wondering how good thier screens are, I have booked into screen 15 which I was told is one of the big ones, it is also THX certified.

    How good is screen 15?

    Thanks

Cheshire Oaks THX certification was covered as an article in HCC about a year ago. It should be top notch, however I've not been in "15" yet.

Have you been in 1 or 8? 1 is another THX screen, maybe the same as 15, and 8 is just another big screen but no THX.
I will have to try and dig out the article.

    Cheers

I have found the article now, its in the June 2000 addition, very technical but sounds like it should be a good experience.
The screen looks pretty good from the look of the photo's
    Cant wait :D

I also read that same article it's also published on a site different from this SMR I think is the name?

Bump start with a slight update.:D

Been looking around the boards and I noticed this thread. I believe the VUE formally known as Warner Village cinemas UK doesn't use THX at Cheshire Oaks. I was looking at the crossover that is housed in the 19” pro racks back in 2004 just a heads up. I know this thread was started back in 2002 around the same time Star Wars episode II was realised.

So no more THX at the VUE the only VUE that is officially THX certified is the VUE at Leicester square along with Empire screen 1. VUE Leicester square as two THX screens and I have only been in one of those screens after Andy Symes chief projectionist showed me around the booth for one of the two THX screens back in 1994. I last meet Andy when working for Warner at the Bristol 12 screen site back in 1998.:)

LOL It might be listed as an endangered building one of a kind to send the demolition crew in would be a crime. The cinema did look very impressive when I was looking around it for job interview.
