i have a marantz 4200 av amp. i have noticed that the the led next to the att label on the left hand side of the facia is continuously lit - cant remember seeing it b4 - should it be lit?
what does it mean, when its lit?
i presume att stands for attenuation, what and why would a signal be attenuated?

In car audio it is the same as "reduce the sound down to around 20% of normal level". The opposite of the Loudness button if you will. If your amp uses it in the same way, turn it off. All AV should be as loud as possible anyway:devil:
