ATI's DVD player, AE100 and HTPC question

    (I'll ask this is far more appropriate forum methinks !)

    I know this is a daft question, but ... if I setup my Radeon with the 848x480 custom resolution is the DVD player (the one that ships with the Radeon in this case) going to automatically know this is a widescreen resolution and just expand the image appropriately ? I'd hate to think it just assumes everything is 4x3 so would end up shrinking the anamorphic DVD to 4x3 and then stretching that out to fill 848x480. There just aren't any "widescreen" setup options that I can find, even with DVD Genie.

    I'll just answer my own question should anyone else have wondered - the ATI DVD player needs a registry hack before it will output anamorphic pictures it seems - so it would have converted 16x9 to 4x3 and then stretched the picture !
