I'm NOT a gamer, but want to buy a passive graphics card to replace my ATI X1600 pro that I have sold, due to it being too noisy (fan).

I need to run a Dell 23" display at 2048x1152 and a Dell 19" display at 1280x1024 simultaneously, something my X1600 pro can do fine.

I do a lot of HDV Video editing using Sony Vegas, so want smooth playback.

I spent all weekend searching the net and have decided that I want a passive ATI Radeon 4350, but play.com sell a nice Sapphire ATI Radeon 3450 for £32.99 delivered.

Both these cards look as though they burn 25w which is acceptable.

Apart from being "newer", Oct 2008 for the 4350, is there any other difference between these two chipsets?

Does anyone recommend the Sapphire 3450?

The 4350 has twice the shader power than the 3450. Also ATI did some internal fixes to imporve the shader power in the newer graphic cards so even at the same speed with teh same amount of shader units they newer cards should be faster.

Went for the Fusion one from Ebuyer £32.20 delivered. (ATI HD 4350 512Mb)

Hope its a good un!
