Thanks for browsing. Any input would be appreciated. I am currently in dialogue with Samsung Technical support about my PC connection to the Plasma.

I have the Samsung PS42V4S with DVI-D Input.
    I have the AT9600XT with DVI-I output.

The DVI-I female connection from the ATI card has the four pins surrounding the single flat PIN and the Plasma does not have the four pins around the flat bit.

Every site I have been to about cables does not do a DVI-I to DVI-D. Am i missing something here, or should a DVI-D to DVI-D just do the trick?

If anyone else out there has their PC DVI going to their Plasma I would really appreciate knowing what cable you purchased for your setup?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Nohoper

As you are sending a digital signal a DVI-D to DVI-D cable should do the trick. The extra pins carries the analogue signal.

    Thanks Bruce,

I am just trying to rule out blatant stupidity from my side at the moment.

    Hi,

I too have the same telly and am tryin to connect the DVI-I from ATI on a Mac to DVI-D on the Samsung... ahhhhh please is there any more info on why DVI-D to DVI-D cables doesn't work!?

This page here has DVI information for the PS42S4 (newer version of the V model) http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/MM/200212/um_ps42s4_start_eng_040614.html
but I can't get anything from trying these out with DVI-D to DVI-D.

Funniest part was Apple Store UK (and the smartest bod's in their "Genius Bar"!) have shamefully never even tried to connect a G5 to a Plasma TV using DVI - they only convert through to VGA (which the samsung doesn't have!)...

any help/wisdom on this is greatly appreciated!
