I currently run Vista Media Center in parallel to a Linn/Meridian stereo. I am seriously thinking of replacing the Karik/Numeric/Kairn/Yamaha DSP A1 with one of these cards when they come out. Does anyone have any experience of the slightly older Xonar sibling? Given the apparent quality of the electronics and feeding it with Flac I am thinking it might be more than a match for the stereo kit - particularly feeding the front left/right into my Meridian 557 / Isobariks. I suspect the Deluxe model will come in at around £150 so will probably buy it first anyway along with a Bluray DVD-ROM.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks

Regardless of the silicon used, do you really think that Asus are capable of building an analogue output section capable of seeing off something from Linn?
Looks like an interesting idea, and whilst it might functionally do everything stated on the tin, doesn't mean that it will do it well.

Yes it will be interesting. At such a 'low' price I have very little to lose. I strongly suspect that at least the DSP A1 has had its day as I seem to be picking up power amps on ebay for a song.

I will report back once I manage to source the new card.
