I currently have the Asus A7V8X Gold m/board in my HCPC, however it's giving me some grief as it keeping crashing my system with funnying colours. So I on the lookout for a replacement that similar but probably better than the A7V8X. I need one with a spdif module that the A7V8X has and a decent sound card.

its direct replacement would be the asus a7n8x deluxe - the nforce2 version of the boardwhich has nvidi'a soundstorm (best onboard audio you can get).

Instead hough, i'd suggest the ABIT NF7-S version2. i have it, and i love it. it's widely know as the best performing AMD board, aswell as the most overclockable. It too has soundstorm (though it has optical, while the asus has co-ax). It is a truly supurb motherboard.
