Alot of us have been trying to guage the quality of LCD's when displaying HD content (after all HD is why we're buying/thinking of buying one). Trouble is there's not much in the way of HD content to test them with. Recently, shops around the country have begun showing the Astra HD Demo Channel to show off what HD tv's can do. I've seen it. It looks great but... Hold on. Isn't Astra HD broadcast in 1080i? LCD's famously don't get on with interlaced signals (small amounts of blur and ghosting even at high resolutions like 1080i). What I'm saying is we still really haven't seen the potential of LCD with HD. We need to see LCD's displaying at 720p. The problem is there's virtually no 720p content available for us to check out. All we've got is the experiences of people on here who have upscaling DVD players (not a true test) and those with modded XBox's who can try out the 3 or four games that run in 720p. Weird situation, no? Are we going to have to wait until XBox 360 (this November) or Sky HD next to get a proper demonstration of what LCD's can do @ 720p? Love to hear anyone's thoughts on this and even better if you've had experience of both 1080i and 720p on your LCD. Is there a big difference?
