Apparently the below is a leaked press release from Ubisoft

''Today, Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed® V, the next major release in the award winning, best-selling franchise. Assassin’s Creed V serves as the introduction to an all new hero, setting and gameplay mechanics as the Assassin’s Creed franchise hits a new era.
Assassin’s Creed V has been in the development cycle for almost three years, at Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Toronto with development support from Ubisoft studios at Annecy, Quebec and Montpellier. Assassin’s Creed V will release on the PlayStation®4 from Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC. The game will release worldwide on November 4, 2014.

In the events of the ongoing Industrial Revolution, Assassin’s Creed V follows the story of Samuel Fey, as he enters the Assassin Order in a time of change and Templar rule. Fey is a successful and respectful entrepreneur, who works outside the corrupt law to guarantee the security of his own and others’ futures. Taking place during the closing years of the Industrial Revolution in Victorian London, players will explore all new locales as they uncover the truth behind the hidden ongoing rebellion.

Assassin’s Creed V is the turning point for the franchise, featuring completely revised stealth and combat mechanics, powered by the next-generation Ubisoft AnvilX engine and all-new gameplay features and systems. While Assassin’s Creed acts as Ubisoft’s rescope for the franchise, it maintains the key touch points that the series is built upon."

I'm taking this with a large pinch of salt until something offical is announced. However I seem to remember that the setting for Black Flag was announced around this time last year.

    London baby!

    Thoughts?

Gonna miss the focus on ships though.

Still potential for it however given the location.

London - industrial revolution - yes please.

I wish they could find a way of ditching the modern day aspect of all the Abstergo and animus bull and just set each installment where it is for what it is. I don't really like being ripped out of a perfectly good Caribbean pirate setting, for instance, to hack into some computer which has nothing to do with what I'm enjoying about the game.

Still a 100% deffo buy for me though. Loving AC4.

As long as they don't bring back horses. They haven't been able to animate then correctly since AC1.

Oh yes please. I was having second thoughts about buying another AC game, then I bought Black Flag and I haven't been able to put it down.

A London setting would be perfect.

I want Paris!!!!! That would be incredible.

I've still to get ACIV! The whole travelling by boat and having to fight random ships thing put me off lol. They were the worst bits of Wind Waker. AC2 was my favourite. Absolutely perfect.

The stealth in this series needs a massive overhaul imo. It's just become really quite goofy (as have most stealth games tbh)

Yep revolutionary France. I think they really need to update the core mechanics as Black Flag managed to hide quite a lot of misdemeanours behind the general fun of exploring and being a pirate.

I will buy it,but it seems like it will be like the assassins creed of old,at least black flag was a bit different with the pirate and West Indies setting.

They really need to do something very different for me to want to get this, I love AC IV but only becasue of the ship and exploration aspects that saves the game in my opinion the on land stuff was still the boring AC of old that hasn't really changed since AC2,

this looks like it will be just on land even the CG trailer looks very much like the one for the first AC game, I will wait for gameplay etc before even considering being interested.

French Revolution Paris should be quite fun to wade through. Ubisoft have a different game for the PS3 and Xbox 360, maybe that has London as it's setting.

Far too early to judge, especially as Ubisoft was forced into confirming the game due to leaks by the looks of it.
I suspect they were planning something much more impressive in terms of revealing the game trailer wise. Anyway it's been in the works for 3 years apparently.

AC2 fixed the problems in AC1 (which it needed). To be fair, we've not really had much in the way of big cities to explore since AC Revelations. If they've got the same level of attention to detail as they had with Renaissance Italy we could be in for a real treat with French Revolution Paris. That's what's been missing for me, a large city to explore from the roof tops.

It looks like early footage, not the final product given Ubisoft were forced into the reveal due to a leak (if it wasn't a leak but aiming for something viral, I'd expect something a lot better than what they have shown). I suspect we will be getting a better trailer with more information in the next month or two. Ubisoft generally tend to do a big reveal that gives a tease of the story with some of the gameplay mechanics and the locations. Then they drip feed new info until release day.

Yes I'd agree that, great as Black Flag is, I do miss having a large city to explore and with it large buildings to climb. Plenty of those in Paris

I really hope they ditch the tedious and irritating tailing segments from Black Flag in the upcoming Unity. There were so many of them in Black Flag and I really didn't enjoy them, almost spoilt what was otherwise a very enjoyable game.

Shut up and etc etc. I'm sure this will be a worthy successor to the PS4's best game to date. At the very least I'm expecting some serious eye candy....

I doubt it mate, they've been in every AC game. I honestly don't think they'd change it.

I'm a bit worried myself as the lack of a ship...definitely the best part about AC:IV. It was perhaps the only thing 'new' (or at least extended from AC:III), that they've added to the series in a long time.

Doesn't matter though. This is a release day collectors edition purchase for me.

While I'm really excited to see where the series goes after the amazing Black Flag, the setting doesn't grab me and I'm concerned it might not have the variety of IV. Early days yet though and I'm sure they'll come up with something thats like the ship part of IV.

Should lose the abstergo, (or whatever it is) stuff imo, completely ruins the immersiveness.

For me the setting reminds me of Florence in ac2,I hope it's not to similar to the old ac games, after black flag they should try new things in ac games.
