Finally worked out how to install the latest drivers from the Nvidia site on the 3D Vision
FOR WIN7 32BIT
As I run a 32bit HTPC this is what I've run through to install the latest drivers.
1) Download drivers for GeForce GT 425M from
Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers
The current latest is 275.33 so download files is:
275.33-notebook-win7-winvista-32bit-international-whql.exe
2) Run the exe file to extract the files, it will then check system compatibility which will fail at this time.
Default install location is
C:\NVIDIA
3) Go to directory
C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\275.33\Vista\International\Display.Driver
4) Look for file
nvmm.inf then copy & paste this file to create a copy within the directory named
nvmm - Copy.inf, this is done to create a backup of the original files as next you need to edit this file.
5) Open
nvmm.inf with notepad.
In the section
[Manufacturer]
There is a subsection
[NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTx86.6.0]
Add the following:
%NVIDIA_DEV.0DF0.01% = Section006, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DF0&SUBSYS_90771B0A
Then under subsection
[NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTx86.6.1]
Add the following:
%NVIDIA_DEV.0DF0.01% = Section008, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DF0&SUBSYS_90771B0A
All this is doing is adding the AsRock manufacturer code for the GT425M so the driver recognises it as a valid device.
6) You can either Save and Close the file like this or you can clean it up like I have done by removing all the unnecessary lines from these subsections
I've done this so I can easily copy the
[Manufacturer] section from the file
nvmm.inf for 275.33 in the new
nvmm.inf file for any future driver updates without having to remember the relevant lines.
I've attached a copy of my
nvmm.inf
7) Run
setup.exe from
C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\275.33\Vista\International to install driver.
FOR WIN7 64BIT
I believe the procedure is nearly the same with just the editing of the
nvmm.inf being slightly different, however as I run a 32bit HTPC I've not tested this.
1) Download drivers for GeForce GT 425M from
Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers
The current latest is 275.33 so download files is:
275.33-notebook-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql.exe
2) Run the exe file to extract the files, it will then check system compatibility which will fail at this time.
Default install location is C:\NVIDIA
3) Go to directory
C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\275.33\Vista 64-bit\International\Display.Driver
4) Look for file
nvmm.inf then copy & paste this file to create a copy within the directory named
nvmm - Copy.inf, this is done to create a backup of the original files as next you need to edit this file.
5) Open nvmm.inf with notepad.
In the section [Manufacturer]
There is a subsection [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.0]
Add the following:
%NVIDIA_DEV.0DF0.01% = Section006, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DF0&SUBSYS_90771B0A
Then under subsection [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.1]
Add the following:
%NVIDIA_DEV.0DF0.01% = Section008, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DF0&SUBSYS_90771B0A
All this is doing is adding the AsRock manufacturer code for the GT425M so the driver recognises it as a valid device.
6) Save and Close the file.
7) Run setup.exe from C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\275.33\Vista 64-bit\International to install driver.
