Asking/Buying N80 unlock code from 3?

Hi all.
As the title goes, is it possible to just ring up the 3 network and pay for the unlock code to these BB5 phones? Do you have to be in/out of contract, or what's the story? I love my phones(changing them every three months or so) and know that I wont have it by the time my contract ends 1/08/07 It will be my first time with this network too so any advice will be appreciated.

Three Ireland are a lot different to Three England. Best to just ring Three Ireland and see for yourself. They're fairly thick on the phone, or so I've heard.
