Have an older ASK A4 projector, it was working fine, after a cleaning
it started to have the following problem.

Upon powering up, it displays for a short time then it shuts itself down.
was told that possibly a ballast? or bulb, but the bulb seems to be fine.

Anyone with experience with this unit?

    HELP! ~hayduke

    Is the lamp seated firmly?

It sounds like something may be loose or not quite connecting properly after being taken apart and reassembled. As it warms up, something (a connection) may be expanding just enough to cause a contact to be lost.

Who cleaned it? Ask them if they would put it right as it seems like whoever took it apart hasn't put it back in exactly the same way.

    Gary.

Have tried to see if there was any connections that might be stressed, is there a way to verify the integrity of the lamp using a standard ohmmeter or other method?
A repair shop suggested there might be a ballast? but could not find or verify if one existed. This is a beautiful and expensive unit and I am not quite prepare to give it the deep six ~t
