Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but when I played a 4k version of "2001: A Space Odyssey" via my system (Sony UBP-X800 player, Denon AVR-X2300W receiver, Sony VPL-VW500ES projector) a while ago there were terrible artifacts that made it unwatchable. I returned the disk on the grounds that it was faulty, but I wonder if perhaps it was because my system is not compatible with HDR? Thanks in advance for any pointers! (There are three versions of the disk on sale at the moment, but I assume they differ only in terms of the extras.)

If I want to watch a film I only have on 4k on the projector I get my player to convert to 4k rec709 sdr because my projector is most accurate in 709.
