Thanks Steve, very informative. 2 questions.

For disc based sources, I presume dynamic metadata will need to be encoded on the disc? If streaming content has it, is it likely that there will be good early uptake for discs? (Edit I see from the other article that it does need to be on the disc and that it will require cooperation from the studios).

With projectors struggling relative to TVs to display HDR, will it be more important for pj users?

Well dynamic metadata is already included on some 4K Blu-rays if they have Dolby Vision but HDR10+ isn't currently part of the 4K Blu-ray specs. If a streaming service uses Dolby Vision then that again has dynamic metadata and Amazon has started using HDR10+ as well on their streaming service.

Yes I think dynamic metadata would be very useful for projectors for exactly the reasons you mention.

Any idea when projectors will have HDMI 2.1? For example, JVC seem to have an annual release of a new lineup every autumn. Do you think they will have HDMI 2.1 next time?

An eye opening article. Fantastic. Clear, concise and a bit mind boggling concerning domestic HDR implementation.
