Arsenal are 2-0 up and Liverpool look asleep.

If Liverpool play anything close to this against AC Milan they'll be butchered!

Their premiership performances really are an enigma when looking at how well they play in the CL (or how well they defend ;) )

its becoming a joke. at home we are fine we play some good stuff and usually come away with the right result but away in the premiership is just a joke. 10 away defeats probably going to be 11 now out of 19 games is just not good enough.

Gerrard makes it 2-1 and was close to equalising.

They are playing much better this half.

if we'd have been at the races 1st 45mins we'd have won it. but its not just this game not good enough over the season has cost us a CL spot. a good clear out of houllier's dead wood in the summer is needed and some real quality is needed in the squad.

Well, be fair. Who was the player that went down like a girl - Alonso wasn't it? The same Liverpool were complaining about getting booked in the away CL game against Chelski saying Godownson overreacted for a free kick. And the goal should be counted as an own goal because Cesc deliberately played it.

Well, he got his own back in the end. 3-1 Arsenal, certs for the second place, ManUre have to qualify for the CL again and Everton definitely in the qualifying round as well. Up the Toffees!

Liverpool fans really shouldn't comment on anyone elses record on diving, including the Manc's. Fans all over the country were convinced for years that Liverpools forwards had spring loaded boots, activated by crossing the penalty area line! Soon as they did, down they went! I'd have laughed if wasn't so nauseating.

Didn't matter if the nearest defender was twenty yards away - theatrical waving at the spot soon followed..........

Where the pool' led, others have followed. Or should that be "people in glass houses".

The race for 4th place in the Premiership makes me cringe more every year.

I hope Everton don't fall at the qualifying hurdle.

What really makes me laugh is how the BBC have Alan Hanen as their chief pundit for football. This is the same Alan Hansen who stood off Michael Thomas and allowed him through to score the Gunner's second, handing them the league championship in 88/89, ultimately resulting in the collapse of the Scouser Empire. You could say Hansen fiddled while Anfield burned. Arsenal had that picture on their tickets for years. I have a few of them tucked away somewhere.

Looks like Arsenal have secured second place. Man U will have to win twice with a goal difference of better than 12 to overcome Arsenal - assuming Arsenal lose the next two games :)

We'll certainly not see you lot anyway, whatever the outcome of the CL final.

Milan must be quaking in their boots having to face you lot. "Ooh, look out, here comes Cisse/Kewell/Baros/Alonso. Danger here!".

    Not!

    Champion's League? You're having a laugh.

Why, don't like hearing the truth? Tough. ;) It happened, we had to put up with it, so you have to put up with the legacy. Nuff said. :hiya:

Can't do worse than us. Their style of football (high work rate, closing down space) in fact, will probably suit better.

You and everyone else. They get a lead then sit on it, thinking (if thats the word!) that they can hold on to what they have and pick teams off. As Man Utd showed, you can do that against the huff and puff teams and get away with it, but against the better teams - no chance. Besides, it wasn't so much Liverpool played better, as Gerrard did. Without him you lot are going to struggle. It's also (as past Arsenal sides have found) a dangerous tactic to rely too heavily on one player.

I think all this "speculation" these days is just the agents trying to stir up other clubs, and forcing the holding club to make a ludicrous offer to the player to stay. It happens every year with us and Viera. One day the clubs will finally sus it's better to say 'get lost' and save a fortune in wages than it is to keep giving in and forcing wages ever upwards. There will come a point, when even the big three/four will no longer be able to keep paying the bills.

The greedy players, and their leeches (agents), will have then killed the golden goose.

All it takes is a recession...........

dont agree on many things mate but that i do. i t hink the perfect example is anelka. :censored: arsenal over truely which is a shame because he had so much talent its unreal. the messed it up at countless clubs including my own. think liverpool was he last big shot (no disrespect to man city) and him and his mercanary brother wrecked it. i think viera will go from arsenal, in my eye he hasnt been the player he was a few years ago with the madrid link thats never gone away. they need a box to box player and i feel you will lose reyes and viera to them. plus pires probably off to barcelona you guys need some replacements fast. just my opinion

Hence Wengers emphasis on youth this season. Reyes is off to Real, Vieras been there all season - in his head. As Chelsea have now bought someone in the role Cole would have played in, he might cool on them. Pires might stay as long as Henry does, but he's no spring chicken anymore and may move on for the 'golden handshake'. He certainly won't get much 1st team football at Barca at his age.

TBH, as Utd are going to drub us anyway, wenger might as well blood all the younger players in the cup final to give them big match experience for next season. As Chelsea are 1-1,000,000,000 on to win it again ( ;) )we might as well concentrate on the CL for once.
