Argos - no receipt / threw away receipt for Wii...

When I received my Wii from Argos, I was pretty suprised to find no paper receipt for it in the package. In the excitement of it all I thought nothing of it, and that Argos would have my order on the system so there wouldn't be any hassle should a problem occur. I've since found out however that there was indeed a "receipt" stuck on the side of the packaging, I guess it formed part of the address sticker or something. Problem is, the packaging is long gone... thrown away soon after it arrived :( I'm I now up a certain creek without a paddle, or should I be able to get a replacement receipt from Argos? Can't say sticking a receipt on the side of a packaging bag is particularly good idea, mind...

The reciept is basically the label on the package with your address etc. Think it has a barcode on it or number. Anyway, if your having a problem with it im sure they will still help you out.

Do you not have the original email invoice? I had to return my nintendo to the service centre and included the email invoice and the argos packaging(as the label could be from ANYTHING - how are nintendo going to know... - plus I doubt they will send it back!)

A bit off topic but i purchased a Epson printer from Argos and lost the reciept and they helped me get it fixed still printer cost £149.99 so no much price difference between that and the Wii so im sure it would be fine.

I remember reading a while back that you don't actually need a receipt from a shop to return it, because they can't prove that you were given one.
So as long as you can prove you bought it by credit card etc you should be fine. If you paid cash you may have a bit of a problem but they can probably find out if the products is theirs or not by other means - barcode etc.

Argos did that with my Xbox 360, I had to tape the 'reciept' back together after I'd ripped it off the box!

well looks like you paid online for it so you probably paid by card, your bank statement is your proof of purchase and thats all you need  (dont let argos tell you otherwise because its bull)

i had to return my DS Lite to Nintendo (stuck pixels).

They accepted my credit card statement as proof of purchase. so if you have a problem, just sort it with Nintendo not Argos.

Totally correct. As long as you have proof, e.g. statements etc ur covered.

I can't understand why some sales assistants insists in putting the receipt in the bag, I want it in my hand so I can be assured that I've got it. Really irritates me.

anyway if you get a problem you would have to go thought nintendo anyway because if you got any wii points or have downloaded any games then if you swap the console over in the shop you would lose all data only nintendo can do the exchange if you dont want to lose all your data
