Yes it does output RGB. Multi-region out of the box including RCE. Very good picture indeed. Remote a bit iffy but for £24.99 a steal.

i returned two of the accoustics today both had the same fault, might be the batch in my local store. when you go to the set up menu and select 16.9 for a widescreen the picture goes completly.luckily i remembered how many clicks down and across to reset to 4.3 which i done blindly on the black screen, this got the pic back.its a shame because they are a cheap spare room bedroom etc multiregion player.also my local store is woking and i got the last two,so if anyone has one should check it.

Bought one of these for my folks for Christmas (technophobes), and they play multiregion out of the box.

Particularly like the way you can control the volume through the DVD remote (not very technical I know, but convenient when just plugged into my parent's TV - no surround sound  )

Also like the JPEG feature - having never seen this before (my Toshiba player at 6 times the price doesn't have this feature), I am mighty impressed and means that my folks can view our wedding and honeymoon photos on screen rather than us having to get them printed.

    A steal at 25 notes...

Can anyone please advise me of the following problem...

As previsously mentioned (for those paying attention), I bought one of these players as a Christmas present for my folks. Whilst round their house over the weekend I casually had a glance around the back of the TV to check that there was a free scart socket - which of course there wasn't.

However, they have a free S-Video connection, so the question is - does this DVD player provide an S-Video output and is it a simple case of using the three lead connector (yellow video and red / white audio leads) ?

Unfortunately, in a fit of festive excitement, the good lady has already wrapped the player so I can't check myself.

Hope this has provided a good giggle for eveyone and a wise advice not to let the misses near unwrapped presents...

    Cheers

I just bought a load of Akura (sp?) players from Makro for xmas presents.
They play everything out of the box, including jpegs, rce, dvd-r, dvd-rw etc. etc. They have S-Video, RGB, component and progressive, even come with an RGB scart.

    Price?? £22.99. :)

juat got one of these meself as a crimbo presie for someone.

Build is OK but the draw is wafer thin... can see that breaking off in a drunken moment!

No display on it, but thats not always a problem.

    Nice and mirror shiny silver.

Not bad value at all if you ask me.

Bought the Acoustic Solution player on Friday and not only is it multi-region straight out of the box but it also plays DivX (so far tested *.avi and *.pmp) burnt onto DVD+R discs.

Tempted to buy another as a spare for when this one breaks. I mean it's only £24.99!

Hi. I recently brought the Acoustic Solutions AS8099 due to the fact that it's multi region out the box. I tried a region 1 disc and got the message saying 'this disc is not formatted to play in this region'.....Any ideas where i'm going wrong?
