Well after finally getting my 360 back today from Microsoft I see that my HDD has been wiped despite assurances that it would not. Thats all my platimum medals on Gotham 3 gone and all my hard work on Rainbow 6 down the spout. Thanks Microsoft, merry christmas.

How come you have only 170 gamerpoints and not showing that you have done platinum medals on your gamertag?

Not disputing you or anything, just curious!

I thought that there was a way you can actually lose all your achievements?
Maybe the original profile got corrupted?

The profile score can't be lost its not physically stored on your Hard Drive. It'd be like reformatting your pc and saying you've lost your msn contacts.

He probably didn't know about recovering a lost profile as it would be missing from the HD

Been at uni since I done them, and i could not be bothered to run 70 meters or RJ45 to my room to connect it to live, so have not been able to update for months. The wifi connection i get in my room is good enough for web browsing but no where near enough for live. Im correcting that next week though asI have just ordered some new cable and a new switch. Ohh well I suppose I have something to do again on those long winters nights.

They told me to lol. I asked if it would be deleted and they said no, just wanted to rule out a HDD fault as the cause.

    Unlucky my friend!

If you can though, recover your original gamer tag and get your points back. Although you have lost your saves at least some of it will be back!

Platinum on PGR is something I would not want to go through again!:suicide:

Can you buy a SATA kit and upload the save games from websites to your HDD? I don't think it would be considered cheating if you've already done them!

Just recovered it, but it does not reflect some of the serious gaming I have done in the last few months. I had not done all the platinums, only had about 10 to go but still its a right kick in the nuts.

When my 360 was in the process of dieing 7 months ago, i got a memory card and backed up all of my saves! so when i swapped my 360 for a brand new one from GS, i just copied all the saves back across! Sorted! I recommend that eveybody gets a memory card as a back up just in case it happens to them!
