So as the all important date of 2nd December gets closer and closer I think that now would be a good time to see who's taking the HD plunge!

The Poll is simple - will you be connecting your 360 to a HD display (be it an LCD, Plasma, PJ, RP etc.) or will you be sticking with an SD display (again can be any type).

Use the thread below to note what display you are going to use.

I want one but am put off by the fact that it seems only the 360 will look great on it.

Don't think I could put up with an inferior Sky picture.

I will make the plunge as soon as Sky HD and HD-DVD/Bluray are around.

(Then again, I may have a moment of madness and impulse buy one.)

Mine will be hooked up to my Sanyo z2 and projected onto an 8ft screen in 720p:cool:

Hopefully will have replaced the five year old 40" RPTV with a new HD DLP RPTV by release day as well.

I just decided to buy a TV for my bedroom and move all my consoles up there from the living room asuntil now I hardly ever got to play them. I decided to get an HD TV primarily for the 360 but also for the Xbox and so I could watch DVD's in HD progressive scan as well. The TV I've but is the Samsung LE26R4iBD. I would have gone for a better all be it more expensive model but the Samsung was the only one within my budget. Overall I'm quite happy with it and can't wait to hook up the 360 to it.

    SD for now guys :(

I want to go HD but the problem is space, money and performance. Space because I don't have room for a projector and screen setup while keeping my CRT and I can't just have a projector. Money because I'd rather not plonk down £2,800 for a Pioneer plasma or a Panasonic PHD panel with a Lumagen scaler (although the fact that I know the word "Lumagen" means I want one ;) ). Performance because I want the resolution of LCD with the viewing angle and black levels of a plasma and the screen size of a plasma and the Freeview picture performance of a CRT.

I'm dying to see the new 40" Samsung 61BD series which is about 2k (an amount I can live with, especially if I sell the PD30) but nobody has them in stock yet to demo it and I'm not spending 2k on a TV to find out I don't like after the delivery van drives away...

Im building a frickin whole garage HC conversion to get the best out of the new 360 experience. Running it through a Yammy amp 8.1 and a Sony VW11Ht, quite an old LCD now but ive recently put in a new lamp which gives it another 2-3 years if im lucky. £400 every 2- 3 years for an 8 ft piccy is a small price to pay.

    Hopefully my360 will be upscaling to 1080i as my JVC P37 CRT doesn't do 720p.(Only 480i/p & 1080i)

Not sure if this has been absolutely confirmed, but reading between the lines it sounds possible.

...fingers crossed for a further 6 weeks !!

Unbelievable! My EXACT same situation, though I got the one with DVB.

Downstairs the xbox was connected to a 42in RPTV, but with me being way closer to the Sammy it seems no smaller :) Only problem is I dont have my 5.1 sound now :(

Once I get my 360 next year it's getting plugged into my Samsung SP46L6HX, probably via component though I might try VGA if I'm still using my US PS2 (which I might for certain games)!

And it was exactly the same situation as me too!! My consoles were connected to a 32" Sony CRT downstairs with 5.1 sound but they never got used. Now they are all connected to either my Sanyo Z3 or my Sony 29" CRT upstairs although sadly I just have DPL no 5.1 up here at the moment. My PJ and the 360 come before a new sound system although I would really love a decent 5.1 set up in the games room.

Assuming the games won't employ this HDCP system bull (only dvd's) then i'm ready to rock n roll upto 1080i on about a 10ft screen

a projector doesn't take much space at all. I have my PTAE100 on a home made wooden ceiling mount, so completely out of sight, out of mind. The screen is a manual one which pulls down over the front of the TV. It also has a surprisingly good WAF.

I've got a 32" Relisys LCD and am well chuffed with it- so my 360 experience is gonna be in HD.

Will probably be a 32" CRT initially and then a nice 40"+ HD screen in early 2006
