Hey looking at these forums seems that there are going to be new editions of daredevil and terminator 3. t3 was confirmed before the dvd came out and daredevil in april.
This is also the case with the LOTR but at least they warn you that special editions will be coming out so giving people a choice-me ive bought both editions of the film since i think they are that good.
But it is a cynical attutude towards normal customers who are not interested in finding out dvd news and just look at the shops and pick up the dvds.
I think more honesty what editions would be welcome like new line with the lotr and more widespread.
however i know its about money and i suppose we will have to take the big hits to our wallets.

If you do a quick search you'll see a new thread about this very fact each week. Unfortunately it's the nature of business to make money. Studios are making hay, etc.

Of course as an informed customer (thanks to the Forum and the Web ;) ) you can now make a more informed choice where/when to spend your cash.

You make it sound complusory to buy a new version if it is released. As far as I know its not, and as long as you have got the origional theatrical release then I dont see why there should be any complaints.

IMHO the biggest rip off is just the general price of DVD's and CD's when we all know that they cost a fraction to produce.

Then they'll blame us for buying crap copies instead of waiting for all six versions to come out. There should be one version at a fair price but maybey i'm just a cynic...

yep dvds are overpriced but they are coming down, when they first came out the deals were not as good.
I suppose the point im trying to make is that for joe bloggs who goes into hmv etc buys a dvd then a yr down the line another version comes out feels stung. There shud be more info out there avaliable. I mean whsmith ran a promo of dvds for £6.99 and speed was among them but only the single disc version-no sign of the double disc-
I suppose i wish that companys shud put out the ulitmate edition of a film the first time-but thats not reality.
then again i am buying the new alien boxset but it is my first dvd version of the films.

I knew about the new version of Terminator 3 next year but decided ten quid for a version now is worth it and if i liked it enough id spend 15 quid on the collectors version next year.

Plus with the muppets you find on Ebay you can always flog the original one for what you paid (or more in some cases) and then buy the newer version.

I have decided to rent out T3, and then buy the SE when/if it comes out. If it doesn't, then T3 will be cheaper by then.

I object to paying £16.99 for it. If it had came out as one disc like X2, then I would probably buy it. I bought the X2 one disc version.
