Thought I would post this link here...in case anyone wonders why, those of you that have been around a while will know that I served 22 years in the Infantry...the link below shows a montage of Y (fire support) Company, 1st Battalion The Princess Of wales' Royal Regiment on their tour of Al Ammarah 18 months ago. This is the same tour that Pte Johnson Beharry was awarded the Victoria Cross.

Just remember, if your 18 year old son is getting on your wick, show him this video and threaten him with the careers office!! :D

Thanks guys - but I actually didn't go... I was 6 months from retirement so they wouldn't let me
I do know the majority of the guys in the video though. They didn't enjoy one minute of it and some are still having a bad time now...pretty good medal haul though. For more details of the medal haul, go to www.123pwrr.co.uk

Damn right - while so many people talk 'right or wrong politics', it is far too easy to forget those who are putting their lives on the line every day. We have the most professional armed forces in the world - long may it stay that way!

Must take some guts to lay your ass on the line like that.....even if you do know what you are letting yourself in for when you sign up.No body wants to die or be permanently maimed. I have a brother-in-law in the Royal Signals...he`s done a couple of tours in Basra & tells it like it is & it sure ain`t pretty!
