    hi guys,

just wondering whether anybody could point me in the direction of any online companies that can supply wall plates that are designed for connecting up your speaker cables.

I am looking to source a hub with six points on it to locate on wall close to amplifier and also for single or double ones which i can place close to speaker locations which would then mean having a short cable running from the wall to the speaker.

any help or advise would be most appreciated

    thanks
    :)

Get a big blank plate and pop enough holes in it. Then run your cables striaght through and get some decent terminations on the ends of the cables. Cheap than going for wall sockets, and sounds better too.

moved into my new house 2 yrs ago and ran cable runs right through the downstairs in the walls with a terminating plate behind my amp and speaker / phone points in all four corners..

hi guys thanks for your input,

bobbypunk, would you have a link to a site showing the QED WM series

P3nZ, what type of terminating plate did you use, does it have a binding post whereby you just use a short run from the amp to the wall plate. would this reduce the quality of the sound

ReTrO, your option is probably cheapest and easiest but does it look neat and tidy, what have you done with the speaker cables for rear speakers, etc

    cheers;)

For speakers on 'large' (read anything over pressed bits of sheet metal :) ) then you can hide a simple blank plate behind the speaker. Also works at floor level for floor standing speakers.

For speakers with small brackets you can probably still hide the outlets behind the speakers. If the plate is going to get in the way then it can be left out if you have a wall box in, which can be hidden still.

The finish is always neat and tidy due to it's invisibility, and if you can see it it will look tidy also.

Rear speakers should be hidden idealy to keep a clean look. failing that you could either paint them up the same as the wall, or make a feature of them.

    Good look with the room.:smashin:
