As the title really! I've got a Benq W1070 in my living room, and I chose this model simply because it's pretty much the only which fits!

As a result, it's a bit noisy, like all of these budget projectors. I'm not overly bothered about increasing other areas of the projector in terms of performance, as I have a living room with light walls...but a quieter projector would be welcome.

Anything new coming?

I guess that could be an option, how are they generally constructed? Surely I need powered extraction from the box, which sounds kind of self defeating?

I've not built one myself, but if you can run the ducting into the ceiling and have the fan elsewhere (so not in the room), or use a larger slower moving fan that is less noisy. Check out builds both here and at avs to see how others have done it if you think that may be the only option.

There are things like the LED Philips screeneo 2.0 and an LG DLP short throw available. Any use?
