I currently have a Pioneer 545 and am waiting for something similarly spec'd to come out which is Pal-Progressive.

In the back of my mind, I guessed I was hoping that a future Pioneer model would do this. But I have just seen a review of one of their new models (565 I think it was) and it doesn't have PP.. Are there any plans to introduce PP onto any of the current or future Pioneer range?

What about any other similarly spec'd model from another manufacturer in the same price range (Between £200-£400)

Any info on this would be appreciated

    Best regards

    Jon

I guess that I should have looked around first.. I see that the new Toshiba 530 may fit my needs perfectly.

I am still not sure if Progressive Scan is going to be all that I hope it to be, but for £200, its got to be worth a try!

I have a Series 5 Panasonic (Toshiba 42WP27). I will check out Harman and Marantz players you mention.

My colleague who has the Toshiba 510 has had loads of problems with it (overheating, lock-ups, stuttering sound etc) so I am tempted to avoid th Toshiba 530, just in case!

I had one of those PLU2 players from ebay (£80), and the progressive scan worked very well (both Pal and NTSC).

I'd still have it if my eldest hadn't parked a sofa on top of it during our recent redecoration.
