Hi guys i was wondering if anyone knew whether we can expect an update of the imac range, like they have done with the Macbooks and Pro's?

I really want to get one and take advantage of the ipod touch / student offer but dont want the hassle of having to send back if new ones come out!

If you know any rumours i'd be interested also!

    Cheers

I don't think they need to. They run on DDR3 RAM, and all their processors are pretty quick.

If you want one get one mate :smashin:

The current range (and the older ones for that fact, since that's what I'm using!) work perfectly and really don't need any kind of update at present.

Yes, I think these were part of the March refresh, so should remain for a quite a while.

That said, the 17" MBP was refreshed in March and has now been changed again.

The iPod rebate runs until the start of uni so take the summer off, enjoy yourself, then return

Given when the last refresh was the quickest will be the Autumn

I think you can take for granted they won't be refreshed while the iPod offer is on.

Well they rebadged MacBooks as Pro's and I think you can expect a new entrant in the MacBook price category, but I suspect the Desktops will be bumped as usual in the autumn.

I don't know where they can go with physical design of the iMac though? Can they make it look any better?

They can get rid of the black mask … but seriously, the iMac doesn't need aesthetic changes and tends to go for a few years (the white from G5 to C2D). Just the usual speed bumps.
