I have the sub thats in my sig below and was wondering if it was safe to rest my laptop on it?

I know that any strong magnet can erase the data on a HDD so was a bit concerned that my sub may not be shielded.

Can anyone advise? :)

I wouldnt do it , its not just the magnetism ( this is hardly likely to be strong enough to erase a hard drive in any case ) but youve also got the vibration to worry about , and in the case of a standard hard drive , this would be more likely to be the cause of damage in my opinion.

Hard drives are delicate electro mechanical devices , and subs can be the source of many a mechanical shock.

Good point. Cheers :)
