Are other Sony products, such as Discman's and Mini-Disc's also restricted in terms of noise levels, the same as the HD3 and HD5 are?

If so, can they also be derestricted the same way as the HD3 / HD5? I want to derestrict my Sony MZN10 Mini-Disc if possible, as it seems very quiet to me compared to other devices I have had in the past, including my previous Mini-Disc player...

Also, when was this stupid European law passed, and what models of Mini-Disc / Walkman are affected by it? I have a Sony D-EJ01 Discman from the early 2000's and that seems very loud, so i'm guessing this law is a recent thing circa maybe 2001 / 2002 / 2003???

Are mobile phones also governed by the same law?

Certain European models of some Creative Players are, I've found, volume limited under this ridiculous French-inspired law! But you get round it by updating the firmware from Creative's non-European websites! Makes a phenomenal difference ...

EU iPods seem to have the same restriction.
