Simple question, I need some speakers that meet the following requirements:

    1. Wall Mounted, no room for floor standers
    2. Sound good for movies ie: start of toy story 2, Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator etc
    3. I will add a sub separately
    4. Music quality not important
    5. Can cope with 100w if needed

I have dismissed eggs due to the centre channel performance problems that keep getting reported (search and you will find this on the forum).

I have dismissed VM1's as my father has some B&W 602's and I can't seem to have lesser speakers than him!!

I think the minipods will hit the mark, what else in the price range up to £1500 for 7 speakers will hit the mark.

The processor is a AV32R and the amp is 100x5r.

Suggestions on a postcard please....

I've been running mini pods in my lounge for 2 yrs now and have to say i still love them.Wife thought they looked great and the sound is very B&W(closed speakers to them ne hoe)

they take about a week or so of music to run them in and they certianly improve with age.I was running a Antony Gallos A'Diva for a centre channle for a while but i killed that on what i would call low volume....sticking with the pod centre now.

I've partnered the pods with a REL qe100 and the system is very rewarding.

try and get a Demo of them as they have a slight colour to them..again B&W sort of colour...

if ur in my neck of the woods pop over for a listen.

Not as interesting to look at as the pods...

Def Tech Pro Cinema 100's are great for movies. Small and compact two way speakers. They come with a base you can use to either attach to the back of them to screw them into the wall or attach to the botton to stand them up. Infidelity in Kingston sell/demo them.

I have seen AV Sales price in the powerbuy, I just need to assure myself that there is not anything else out there that I ought to consider?

When spending up tp £1,500 on speakers there is plenty that you ought to consider especially if that excludes the sub budget. You must even be in M&K territory.

Which M&K's as I have had problems trying to work out their product range, their site is USA based and hence no UK prices or UK range availability.

Forum sponsors hifibitz sell an M&K package here but my advice would be to buy the satellites and a different brand of subwoofer

Agreed, pod base station is poo. If you want, your welcome to come over to our demo room - we've got several different subs in too, the Velo CHT is a little too big for most rooms but we've got one in, and the SPL800 and a VX10 (at my place - which i'm running with a set of pods at the moment!!!). If you hang back another week or two we'll have the MJ acoustics subs in....

WOuld love to see them up and running, but being based in Brum and workin in Manchester makes it hard to get down to Tunbridge wells (somewhere down sarf innit?), but if I do get permission to get them rest assurred I will be contacting Liam.

Now any ideas on how I convince the other half about a plasma?
