My second TV is a 14" CRT which, I can't attach to an outdoor aerial, but which receives surprisingly good Freeview with the simple ring aerial supplied with the set. I'd like to replace it with a 20" LCD (possibly a Sony) but am scared that this would not work well with an indoor aerial. I once got the impression that another CRT I had worked well with an indoor aerial, but not so the LCD which replaced it.

Anybody else have views on this - and if CRTs do work better with indoor aerials than LCDs, why should this be?

Sorry about the mis-spelling of "aerial" in the heading - can't edit it!
