    Hi Guys

just want to know your experiences with the choice's direct website.

whether it is good value or you get stuff delivered and its destroyed

the reason i am looking to them over play.com is

in december i plan on buying the ALIEN QUADRILOGY BOX SET

play.com put it on as £64.99! but have now changed it to £69.99!!

choice's direct.co.uk have put it on as £49.99!!!

but as this is a box set i dont want to receive it all smashed in

and i know from experience that play.com do box the box set and package them well

    hope you guys can help

They show up on the list of recommended DVD retailers HERE which would suggest a number of Forum members have had dealings with them and have been happy. They are under the heading R2 UK. Hope this helps.

In my experience, Play just throw boxsets in a jiffy bag, ensuring that they do arrive all smashed in.

I use ChoicesDirect a lot and can't recommend them enough. I bought the Limited Edition 24 Box Set from them recently and it came well packaged in a proper cardboard box with lots of padding inside. Arrived in 100% perfect, immaculate condition :smashin:

I also would thoroughly recommed choices, i have had a few box sets from them including the james bond tin, world war 1 etc i.e big box sets, and they are fantastic. You can also phone them if you have any queries and you get through straight away, the customer services also seem knowledgeable and very helpful. Delivery is also very quick, probably quicker then play

And it was a mere £30 when they first had it up for pre-order. Oh how I wish I'd ordered it then :(

NoelStar - pity you didn't see my thread over in the Bargain and Special Offers Forum as you could have got the set for £42.84! It seems they've only recently changed the price and if I were you, I'd get my order in now as £49.99 is still good.

I ordered the set from Choices originally back in July when they had it up for £52. When I was checking my orders a couple of weeks ago I noticed they had changed the price to £44.99 - this is when I posted my thread on the Bargain Forum. Then somebody else noticed Choices had changed the price again, to just £42.84!

So put your order in at Choices for £49.99 - as you say, it's still 20 quid cheaper than Play - but keep checking their site in case they lower the price again. Not sure if this will drop in price again though, as there now seems to be a confirmed release date and a pic of the box on their site.

As to your original question, I must back up what many have said here already - Choices are a great company. Ordered quite a few DVD's from them including a couple of box sets and they always come in sturdy cardboard boxes with plenty of padding.
