I am having problem trying to burn CDs with a NEC3500 and Nero7 it is giving me a "power calibration" error.

Searching the net and Nero.com indicates that its probably dodgy media.

The thing is i bought 200 CDRs at the same time a few months ago and i am now having problems with the last 75 (Datawrites disks bought from SVP).

These have been in the draw in shrink wrap, cold the media quality have been affected by the recent hot temperatures?

It burns DVDs (different laser) and CD-RWs ok, so i can only assume its the disks?

    Try reducing the burn speed.

For the discs to get damaged you'd have to leave them in direct sunlight i'd imagine, even then i'd be somewhat suprised if they were damaged really.
Reducing burn speed and increasing buffer size could be worth a try.

I have tried reducing the burn speed and i am getting more burns, probably 1/4.

I reduced to get 9+/10 so i geuss ut must be a dodgy batch of disks.
