Just bought a Pioneer DV-868AVi-s DVD player. Firmware version is 526.

The place I bought it advertised it as 'Multiregion' but it spits out Region 1 discs. My previous player, a DV-757Ai was also 'Multiregion' but would play anything.

Do you think the player I've just bought hasn't been 'adapted' yet???

Is the 'region free' fix on this player simply a code or is it a solder job as I had to do with a DV-717 I had??

If its a solder job then I will return the unit as, I guess the seller hasn't converted it, as they advertised.

The 868 can be modded via remote control code but I bought mine with it already modded. You'll need a someone (if you dont have one yourself) with something like a Pronto remote to do the reprogramming and hey presto!
