Well after much research bought an arcam avr300 to go with arcam dv89 and panasonic viera. Awesome BUT avr fan keeps coming on. Very loud and annoying.
Having read on forums that this is a known fault contacted arcam who suggested returning to dealer. Dealer is in Weymouth but I am in High Wycombe. They suggested returning to local dealer from where they will pick up.
    Few questions,
    1. How will local dealer react to me dropping off unit purchased elsewhere partcularly as I did demo some stuff there as well?

    2. Should I insist on new unit or accept repair?

    3. I suppose that I will be completely without unit for a while, any ideas how long? Arcam say that they cannot provide a loan unit.

    Any comments?

I would guess that you AVR300 is from one of the very early batches which did suffer from this problem. I think you may have to return to the delaer you bought it from - I had a slight problem with a P90 and had to return it to the dealer I got it from, I was told I couldn't even take it to another branch of the same dealer.

I don't see any reason why the dealer local to you won't accept it. Surely is they have agreed to stock Arcam equipment then Arcam would insist on this service.

If you've only just bought it then I would ask for a new one.
