Does anyone have experience of pairing either the Arcam AVR300 or Denon 3805 to a set of 5 Quads(11L/12L/Centre+sub)?

If so how do they fare and did you demo both before coming to a conclusion?

Are the differences pronounced or subtle and do they justify the price difference?

Any advice and suggestions gratefully appreciated.

    Regards,

    HT

I haven't those combos, but I would opt for the Arcam, I think the Arcam 'sound' will suit the Quads more than the Denon.

I currently use a Marantz SR7400 to drive my Quads, and it does a sterling job. The Marantz SR8500 could be a good match when it is released early in the new year.

But if it has to be the AVR300 or 3805, I'd opt for the AVR300. It depends on the house sound you prefer though, but from a musicality perspective, the AVR300 will do more justice to the Quads than the Denon, in my opinion.
