Has anyone else heard if this is likely to be available this year?

I'm considering upgrading my Arcam Alpha 10 DAVE the A32, but am holding fire until this becomes available for home cinema and DVD audio.

    Hi,

We have started shipping the 7.1 channel A32 units with the board built in. The upgrade kits are being finnaliased as they require some extra parts and instructions. I would think they will start shipping towards the end of next month.

However you should be aware that the 7.1 Ch upgrade card is a multichannel preamplifer, it has no on board decoding unlike the DAVE. So you must use it with a DV89 or DV27-A player (or other decoding source or processor) to take advantage of the extra channels.

    Regards,
    Andrew

Cheers for that Andrew much appreciated.

    That's got me excited now!

Any idea of the price for the A32 with this prefitted?

    Hi Pringtef,

It's not on the price list yet but plan on a UK price of £1450 to £1500 retail for an A32 fitted with the dual 7.1 input module.

Is this the same board that will be fitted in the A85?

Yes it is. existing A85s and A32s will need to be returned to the factory to have the board fitted, in order to update to update the amplifier's firmware to support the new board. AFAIK we expect to charge £350 for the board as a retrofit, including one way (return) carriage to you or your dealer.

    HTH.
