Hi all, ive been offered a Arcam DV89 for £145, is this a bargain, or is this old hat now & not worth the money? please advise me, im new.
Just for those this'll help, im currently running a Arcam Alpha 9 & 9p with mordaunt short 914i, floor standers. Im looking to crisp the sound further by replacing my Technics Cd player & thought i could kill 2 birds with one stone, by geting a dvd & cd combi.
Many thanks for your time in advance guys. Steve

I enjoy my DV89 and sounds like it would find a good place in your setup. You can get cheaper than £145 if you look around these days, probably about £120 normally on ebay these days. They originally retailed at £1300. I love mine.

I have the 89 and now it's mostly just gets used as my main CD player as it is very good at this. It's a DVD audio player if your into them.

I don't use it for DVD's anymore (no HDMI) as i find my Blue Ray is much better DVD player.

You won't be able to buy a better new CD player for £150 that's for sure.

Thanks guys, i got my DV89 & DT81, I now need an integrated amp & or a power amp for bi amping.
Thanks for your imputs guys, the DV89 sounds fantastic through my mordaunt short's. lol.
Many thanks again
