    Hi,

Just as the heading says really. I am wondering if I will really gain anything by getting the DV88p or the FMJ machine? I am using the vanilla DV88 presently through my Pioneer MXE and although it is a great picture I wonder whether I am missing out on some quality?

I am prepared to either pay for the upgrade on the DV88 or just sell and move up to another machine.

I think the audio capabilities of the DV88 are fantastic BTW and I wouldn't like to downgrade this for the sake of improving PQ.

Any pointers folks? What are you mxe people using?

    Thanks

sorry, I should have said I am using the component outs into the plasma.

I'm using a DV27 into a panny plasma, and love the results. Prefer it to my HTPC, and a cheapo DVI player i tried.

I think you'd find that the DV88P would offer better deinterlacing that the internal deinterlacer in your Pio screen, but would recommend you demo it before splashing the cash.

    Cheers, Carl.

    Thanks Carl,

I did wonder about just going the whole hog and moving over to a DV27.

How much can you pick one up for? second hand even...

Mine was about £800 from the classifieds on this forum. They do pop up from time to time so worth keeping an eye out, or maybe start a wanted thread ?

    Cheers, Carl.
