Has anyone tried playing SVCDs on the Arcam DV88.

I am desperatly looking for a solution to my SVCD problems and am starting to think that I should just buy the best and be done with it.

However I recently tested a SVCD on a Wharfdale 750 and found that it only plays the centre 75% of the screen!

    Has anyone done any tests?

Does anyone want to do some, if I sent them an SVCD?

Don't get too excited.. All my SVCDs are home grown (i.e. Home Video Footage).. Don't let that get you excited either, we are not talking about me giving my misses a good seeing too or anything like that :)

All my SVCDs are just boring home video stuff.. You know, weddings, birthdays, holidays.. That kind of crap!

The test disk that I did, comes from a visit to Silverstone last week when I saw some F1 testing..

I was showing off video editing to a friend and added some text at the beginning which went right across the screen. (which is about as much as I can do)...

On the PC it was nice and central on the screen.. Like this:..

    | F1 Testing, Silverstone |

But on the Wharfdale I tested it on, the text went off the side of the screen, so it looked like this:

    |1 Testing, Silverton|

Its like the DVD player takes the middle 70% of the image and blows it up to fit the screen, making some of the picture go off the side of the screen.

But if you are interested in helping, it would be hugly appreciated....
