some learning remotes can not learn dv88 codes correctly?!!!

when using them in dvd menu - i can move cursor only once to one direction (i am using cambridge audio learning remote) . it looks like part of the code is not transmitted or simmilar. i heard something about parity bits but have no idea what it is!!!

can marantz pronto clone handle this
    can real pronto handle this
    cheers

When I had my DV88 my Pronto worked 100% with it.
    No problems here.

Are you sure you have learned each command correctly?
Might be worth while putting them in again, just to make sure.

    sure i did!
it worked fine on arcam learning remote (borrowed for test), and on my main remote (TAG) but that one is in other floor!
    there must be some reason.

but thanks anyway, my next investment is named pronto!

The trick is not not try to "learn" the codes from the Arcam remote but instead to use the RC-5 mode when programming the button using PC software.

A full list of the codes can be found in my Arcam DV88/DV27 FAQ at http://www.envytech.co.uk/dv88 including those for a discrete on/off function (Player firmware 1.70 onwards).

Note that the parity bit requirement has been removed from the latest 1.74 firmware.

    Regards,

    [)amien
