It will not do PAL progressive "out of the box", but there are plenty of people here that can tell you how to chance it so that it will.

I guess you should contact your dealer.

    Cheers,

Any chance you got elaborate? The DV88 is one that I'm considering and will (eventually) feed a plasma screen so PS might improve the quality of picture. What's the difficulty with getting PAL progressive out of a DV88 other than the licencing issues?

    Regards

    Rob

I don't have the details, but there are plenty of people on this forum that have DV88 or DV27 players - a private message to one of them should yield results.
Nothing. It is purely a licensing thing.

    Cheers,
    Liam

    Rob,

If you plan to get the upgrade, I recomend you get the FMJ DV27, it costs about the same as the DV88 plus upgrade, and it has better components and chassis, so better sound and image...

I just replaced my DV88 for one, really a big improvement, even before I use progressive scan...

codling: Which PDP are you thinking of getting? Some like the new Pioneers don't currently support PAL progressive (there'll be some way around it).

    retro,

i dont really whant to change my dv88(only had it about 10 months) ,i really like it.
95% of my dvds are r1 anyway,so only ntsc progressive would probably do me for now.if the arcams could do pal progressive
,it would tempt me to buy more r2.:)

so fingers crossed that they come up with something.

    thanks cod
