I moaned about it in a previous thread and it still wont play my Criterion The Rock but I have every faith in an upgrade sorting this out sometime soon. Just watched my first full film on it and the picture quality really did impress me enough to slice out a piece of humble pie. The disc in question was Charlies Angels (Drew Barrymore - enough said) and I can honestly say that I've never seen such detail and incredibly lush colours. I'm on my 4th different player (imported my first when they launched Stateside and decent films on DVD were few and far between)and this is the first that has truely handled those difficult reds (car tail lights etc.) properly. My audio settings were left the same as they were for my relegated Pioneer 626 and the Arcam delivered much more punch and better controlled LFE. I'm now glad I took the plunge and feel a tad guilty starting the "heap of junk" thread.
