In the 2-channel analog audio mode, does the DV79 sound better then CD73?

If it does sound better, is it closer to CD82 or CD93?

    Best regards,

I believe it is very similar to the CD82. I think it uses the dual wolf DACs. I'm going by memory here, the Arcam site will probably tell you.

BTW, better is entirely down to the listener. I know one guy who thinks the CD82 is one of the worst CD players he has ever heard but finds the CD72 inoffensive.

    Hi,

You really need to listen to it as the previous poster commented different people like different things and different systems can emhasise or recess different sound dharaters.

For the record the DACs in the DV79 are based on the same topology as the ones used in the AV8. However the sound quality is also governed by the clock circuitry and the DV79 has an entirely new low jitter clock system. The PSU also makes significant difference this is also a new sample rate locked design etc. You can't take one peice of a design and say it will sound good or bad. So the bottom line is you need to listen to it and in your system if at all possible.

    Regards,
    Andrew
