Has anyone seen this review in latest issue now in the shops? Any comments - particularly regarding how the DV79 shapes up against the Pioneer 868?

Is this really an independent review or a biased one "bought" with advertising?

I ask because I was about to buy the 868 to go with my Pioneer PDP504 HDE plasma but I am a novice in home cinema so really unsure which DVD player to buy now.

Anyone any comments on the reliability of Arcam products.

Arcam products are a level above pioneer as far as reliability goes. Small company, smallish customer base = great service. You even have the man in charge (john Dawson) frequenting these forums
