The spec list on the Arcam website also states that it does too. If it has the same components as the DV88+ and the DV89 then I'm sure it does support HDCD.

Not meaning to poach this thread, but on the same subject, can someone confirm that my CD33T decodes HDCD as it is not mentioned on the website as far as I can see.

    The Arcam answer:

    Dear sir,

There is an error in the instruction manual that says an HDCD led
illuminates when in use, this is not the case.
However HDCD will appear on the On Screen Display on your ctv or monitor
    when in use.

Extra info from Arcam when I indicated no HDCD logo was displayed:

The HDCD logo only appears for a few seconds in the top left hand corner
of the screen when you first play the disc.
Sorry the earlier e-mail was not clear enough, I hope this answers your
    question.

    Regards

Alway's nice to know ;) But why not A HDCD logo on the player self, like the 88+

Anyway the analog CD output is outstanding, better than the Denon 2900.

NO. I use the HDCD decoder of my Rotel RSP1066 and thats works fine to me. But the Analog output of the Arcam is great.
I was looking on the web for a review of this player but i can't find nothing. Anyone??

I had the same problem, but I've seen the logo, so my life is complete now :D

You must turn you tv on first, than te DV78, then put the HDCD in and press 'play'. For a few seconds the logo appears.
